Travel information

Public transport in Brussels: for subways, trams, buses and trains inside Brussels itself you can use a jump ticket with 1, 5 or 10 journeys. You can buy this ticket in every train or subway station in Brussels and you have to validate it in an orange validation box every time you board a bus, tram, metro, or train. The ticket is valid for one hour. You can find a map of the Brussels network here.

How to get to Brussels (Noord/Nord)

    By train

If you travel to Brussels by train, Brussel Noord/ Bruxelles Nord railway station is the station nearest to the conference venue.

Most trains going to and through Brussels call at the three major railway stations (Noord/Nord, Centraal/ Central, Zuid/Midi). However, there are some notable exceptions, such as Thalys and Eurostar, which only call at Brussels Zuid/Midi. To get from there to the conference venue, take metro line 2 or 6 in the direction of 'Simonis Elisabeth' and get off at 'Botanique/Kruidtuin'.

You can consult the website of the national railway company here: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php.

    From the airport

You are most likely to land in one of the two following airports: Brussels Airport or Brussels South Charleroi Airport. Brussels Airport is the largest one, the one closest to the city, and has the best connections to the city. Brussels South Charleroi Airport has the cheapest flights.

There are four trains per hour from the airport railway station to Brussels.

For details, check the railway company website: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php.

    1. bus + train

You can take a bus from 'Gosselies Aéroport' (right outside the airport) to the 'Charleroi Sud' railway station and then take a train to Brussels Noord/Nord (2 trains per hour). The timetable for the bus is to be found on the airport website (click the link 'access and car parks'). Train timetables are here: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php

    2. coach

There is also a direct coach link from Brussels South Charleroi Airport to Brussels Zuid/Midi railway station (an hour travel time). More information on the airport website (click the link 'access and car parks').

In Brussel Zuid/Bruxelles Midi you can take the metro to 'Botanique' (line 2; see above).

How to get to Campus Koningsstraat 336, 1030 Brussels

    From Brussel Noord/Bruxelles Nord

Leave the station through exit 'Aarschotstraat/Rue d'Aerschot'. Cross the Aarschotstraat and go straight ahead into the Allardstraat. Pass the Brabantstraat and keep walking straight ahead, into the Dupontstraat (rising steeply). Campus Koningsstraat is located on your right at the end of the street. A map is available here.
