Curriculum Vitae

Edoardo Cavirani (º1983) studied Historical and Comparative Linguistic at the University of Pisa. In 2011 he became a PhD student at the University of Pisa and the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics (LUCL), and in 2015 he obtained his PhD (Doctor Europaeus) with the dissertation Modeling Phonologization. Vowel epenthesis and reduction in Lunigiana dialects. From 2011 to 2014 he was teaching assistant of phonetics and phonology at the University of Pisa, and from 2014 to 2015 he (co-)taught several courses on Italian linguistics at the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics (LUCL). From 2014 to 2017 he held a postdoc researcher position at the Meertens Institute (KNAW) in the Maps & Grammar project, where he stayed till 2018 as guest researcher. In 2019 he joined CRISSP as a FWO Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Seal of Excellence postdoc researcher with a project on the microvariation of gender and number spell-out supervised by Jeroen van Craenenbroeck.
